A new international balance is taking shape before us: whilst Mediterranean countries are throwing off the shackles of authoritarian regimes and the Asian powers are becoming an economic fixture, the West has to implement sweeping reforms to combat the economic and financial crisis which has been undermining it since 2008.
These changes mean that we have to take full stock of the new global economic and political forces. An expert analysis has to be carried out
and tangible answers provided to the questions raised by the transformation of our world. This is what the fourth edition of the « New World » symposium will be about. I look forward to welcoming you there on 5 and 6 January 2012.
